Simple Homemade Applesauce
- Fresh apples
- Cinnamon (optional)
Making your own applesauce is so easy…and so, so delicious!
Start by coring, peeling and quartering your apples.
Place the apples in a pot on the stove with just enough water to cover the bottom.
Bring to a simmer, and cook until the apples are tender.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Use a potato masher, food processor or food mill to puree your apples into a smooth sauce (or a chunky one, if you prefer).
Add a taste of cinnamon if you wish.
That’s it! Your applesauce can be eaten right away or preserved by freezing or canning.
